Matt Dennis is an experienced investment professional with close three decades spent investing in, studying and writing about global capital markets.
He began his investment career in London in the mid-90s as an equity strategist, on the Top-ranked Strategy & Economics team of Hoare Govett. In his roles as European and Global equity strategist he was responsible for written idea generation and research for fund managers and institutional asset allocators to inform equity allocations vs. alternative assets and across regions, countries and sectors. His research interests covered a broad range of topics, including the implications for bond yields and equity prices in the run-up to European Monetary Union, cross border valuation normalization, returns on invested capital implied by current valuations, etc.
He joined INVESCO in late 2000, where he spent 22 years managing institutional and retail portfolios as a Senior Portfolio Manager on INVESCO’s International Equity Team, helping grow the franchise from sub $5bn in AUM to $35bn. There he was specifically responsible for day-to-day management of $25bn+ in International, Global and European focused mandates with oversight of the fundamental and quantitative research for a 17-person investment team. Matt is a founding member of INVESCO’s Global Investor Forum Advisory Council (GIFAC), a 25-person team of investment leaders tasked with enhancing the investment culture, communication and best practice sharing amongst INVESCO’s 650+ investment professionals and teams around the world.
